The South Central Railway (SCR) has announced the recruitment of 4232 apprentices under the Apprenticeship Act, 1961.
This is an excellent opportunity for candidates to receive training in various trades such as Electrician, Fitter, Welder, and others across multiple railway units.
Selected candidates will undergo training as per the standards set by the Central Apprenticeship Council.

Qualification
Candidates must meet the following educational requirements:
- Academic Qualification:
- Pass in 10th class or equivalent (under the 10+2 system) with a minimum of 50% aggregate marks.
- Possession of an ITI certificate in the relevant trade from a recognized NCVT/SCVT institute.
- Important Notes:
- Engineering graduates and diploma holders are not eligible.
- Candidates must have completed their ITI certification by the date of application submission.
Age Criteria
- Minimum Age: 15 years.
- Maximum Age: 24 years (as of 28 December 2024).
Relaxation in Upper Age Limit:
- SC/ST: 5 years
- OBC-NCL: 3 years
- PwBD: 10 years
- Ex-Servicemen: Additional relaxation as per service rendered.

Selection Process
- Merit-Based:
- A merit list will be prepared based on the average of marks obtained in 10th class and ITI (equal weightage to both).
- Tie Resolution:
- Older candidates will be preferred in case of a tie in marks.
- If the age is also the same, candidates who passed the 10th class earlier will be given preference.
- No Written Test:
- There is no written examination or interview.
Salary
Selected apprentices will receive a stipend during the training period, as per the Apprentices Act, 1961.
